Laborers’ Local Union 455 recognizes and celebrates the academic achievements and community service undertaken by the children and grandchildren of our members, and all those seeking higher education across New Haven County. The Ralph J. Inorio Scholarship Fund was established just for this purpose. For our inaugural year we believe awarding scholarships to the Class of 2025 is one of the most important contributions that we can make to hard-working students. As the cost of postsecondary education continues to rise, we recognize that students need all the financial help possible.

This scholarship fund was established in memory of our deceased brother Ralph J. Inorio. A former laborer, steward, and Sergeant-At-Arms of Laborers’ Local 455 brother Ralph J. Inorio passed away from lung cancer related to asbestos in 1988 after 25 years as a member. At the time brother Inorio left behind a spouse, 5 children, and lots of other family and friends. Brother Ralph J. Inorio’s legacy includes many feats, but he is most well-known and remembered for his big heart and willingness to help others. It is only fitting that a scholarship be awarded in his name.
